EON Circular Impact Empowers Future Changemakers Through Sustainable Fashion Initiative
Shah Alam, 22 April 2026 – In conjunction with Earth Day 2026, EON Berhad successfully organised EON Circular Impact: Earth Day Edition, a sustainability-driven initiative aimed at promoting textile recovery, circular economy practices, and environmental awareness among future talents.
The programme held in collaboration with Upcycle4Better and Kolej Vokasional Sepang, brought together 40 students from the Fashion Design programme for an engaging and hands-on learning experience centred on sustainable living and responsible consumption.
The initiative featured a series of activities, including an educational tour, sustainability quiz sessions, thrift shopping supported by RM20 vouchers, and a textile upcycling workshop. Students gained practical exposure to the environmental impact of fast fashion while learning how used textiles can be transformed into functional and creative products.
Beyond raising awareness, the programme aimed to equip students with valuable knowledge and practical skills that encourage more sustainable lifestyle choices and innovative thinking within the fashion and creative industries.
“This programme opened our eyes to the importance of sustainability and how creativity can play a role in reducing textile waste. One of the most enjoyable activities was the factory visit, where we had the opportunity to observe various operational and production processes carried out systematically and efficiently,” shared Damia Darisya, a Fashion Design student from Kolej Vokasional Sepang.
Shaziana binti Samsudin, Lecturer of the Fashion Design Programme at Kolej Vokasional Sepang, also highlighted the educational value of the initiative. “Upcycle4Better provided meaningful exposure through interactive quizzes and discussions about fast fashion, pollution, and the importance of protecting the environment through initiatives like these,” she said.
The programme reflects EON’s ongoing commitment to embedding sustainability not only within its business practices, but also across community engagement and youth development initiatives. It also demonstrates the importance of collaboration between industry players, social enterprises, and educational institutions in driving positive environmental impact.
Adzfar Abd Aziz, Covering Chief Operating Officer of Avis Budget Malaysia, said, “Autofest allows customers to experience the new Budget brand first-hand and see how we make everyday travel, be it for business or leisure, simpler and more affordable.”
“As part of the launch promotion, rentals start from as low as RM68 per day for a Proton Persona, with customers receiving a complimentary RM10 AEON voucher for any bookings made during the Autofest period,” he added
