Camp exposes students to hands-on applications of STEM and digital technology, as well as future career opportunities

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 December 2025 — Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON), Malaysia’s largest multi-car brand dealership and a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, wrapped up its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with the EON Tech Future Camp 2025

The programme, delivered in partnership with Creative Minds Education was designed to inspire and nurture Malaysia’s next generation of innovators through interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning experiences.

Integrating Digital Skills with Technical Competencies

The initiative brought hands-on learning and innovation challenges to six schools across Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, namely SMK Bukit Rahman Putra, SMK Bandar Baru Bangi, SMK Dusun Nanding, Kolej Vokasional Ampangan, Kolej Vokasional Juasseh, and Kolej Vokasional Port Dickson. In total, 360 students had the opportunity to take part in a series of workshops, robotics demonstrations, and coding sessions.

At the heart of the camp was the Acebott Robotics, an educational robotics platform which allowed students to build and programme robots using modular components and visual coding software. This enabled STEM, coding, and engineering concepts to come to life in an engaging, classroom-friendly way.

Akkbar Danial, CEO of EON, said the EON Tech Future Camp initiative exposes students to real industry insights and practices, helping them understand the role of technology in industry.

“It also opens their eyes to the diverse career possibilities in innovation and engineering, strengthening their readiness for future employment. Through the camp, EON is reinforcing the belief that education is central in driving innovation and sustainable growth within the automotive industry,” Akkbar said.

The initiative culminated in a grand finale competition which was held recently at the EON Headquarters in Glenmarie, where students showcased their technical and innovative skills in three categories — the Mission ChallengeMaze AI Challenge, and Innovation Challenge.

Champions from each category walked away with cash prizes of RM1,000, while first and second runners-up received RM750 and RM500 respectively, along with certificates of participation.

Kolej Vokasional (KV) Ampangan emerged as the overall champion, securing first place across all competition categories.

In the Mission Challenge, SMK Bukit Rahman Putra was the First Runner-up and KV Juasseh the Second Runner-up. Meanwhile, KV Juasseh finished as First Runner-up, while SMK Bukit Rahman Putra took Second Runner-up position in the Maze AI Challenge. In the Innovation Challenge, SMK Bukit Rahman Putra and KV Juasseh were the First and Second Runner-up, respectively.
